  • The College Baseball Foundation and Diamond Sports are proud to announce this week’s National All-Star Lineup.  See the full National All-Star Lineup below:
  • Matt Bashore - Indiana
  • Combined to pitch Indiana to its first Big Ten Tournament title since 1996.  Bashore was named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player pitching 7 innings, allowing only two hits while striking out 9.

  • Eric Arnett - Indiana
  • Arnett allowed just 4 hits over 7 innings and struck out 10 to help the Hoosiers to their first Big Ten Tournament title since 1996.  Indiana defeated Purdue 9-1 in the opening round of the tournament with Arnett giving up just one walk and no runs.

  • Andrew Clark - Louisville
  • Earned the Jack Kaiser Award as the Big East Tournament’s top player hitting .500 with six runs scored and eight RBI over the Cardinal’s five games.  Clark added two doubles, a triple, and a home run to help the Cardinal’s to a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament for the first time in school history.

  • Brandon Koenigstein - Creighton
  • Threw the first recorded complete-game no hitter in school history on just 73 pitches.  Koenigstein struck out a career-high seven batters and never reached a 3-ball count, facing the minimum 21 hitters.

  • Ryan Weigand - Gonzaga
  • Hit .500 (6 for 12) with two doubles, three homers, nine RBI, and 4 runs scored.  Weigand led the Zags to a 14-3 win over Loyola Marymount giving them the school’s first ever West Coast Conference Tournament crown, earning the team a spot in the NCAA Tournament.

  • Jerry Sullivan - Oral Roberts
  • Picked up his seventh win of the season pitching a complete game shutout against Centenary in the opening round of the Summit Conference Tournament.  Sullivan recorded 10 strikeouts, allowing just one hit, one walk, and one run.

  • Chris Mederos - Georgia Southern
  • Struck out a season high 12 batters against Davidson in 7.1 innings of work only giving up 2 earned runs.  Returned after 3 days rest to pitch 5 scoreless innings against Elon in the conference title game, allowing just 3 hits and struck out 6.

  • Mikie Mahtook - LSU
  • Named 2009 SEC Tournament MVP hitting .454 (10 for 22).  The freshman centerfielder added three RBI, two runs scored, and 17 putouts to help the Tigers to their second consecutive SEC tournament title.

  • Greg Krause - Utah
  • Paced Utah to the Mountain West Conference Tournament title and their first trip to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1960.  The Utes closer had 4 tournament appearances over 8.1 innings allowing nine hits, one earned run, no base on balls while striking out 8.  Krause was 2-0 on the week and picked up a save.

  • Adam Buschini - Cal Poly
  • Hit a home run in each of Cal Poly’s four games and extended his hitting streak to 15 games.  Buschini hit a single, a double, and a homer against Santa Clara Monday, followed by a 4 for 11 effort with a double, three homers, and six RBI against UC Riverside over the weekend.  Buschini’s homer on Friday night snapped a 3-3 tie, and he drew a bases-loaded walk in the eight to force in what proved to be the winning run in a 6-5 win.

  • Brandon Loy - Texas
  • Named the Big Twelve All-Tournament shortstop after hitting .643 with six RBI and three runs scored.  Loy also earned the honor of Most Outstanding Player for the tournament as Texas won the Big Twelve Tournament title.

  • Craig Fritsch - Baylor
  • Threw 7.2 innings in two appearances, allowing only two runs on seven hits and five walks.  Fritsch struck out 11 for the week, earning both of Baylor’s tournament wins. 

  • Mike Leake - Arizona State
  • Tossed his second complete game shutout against UCLA.  Leake allowed only 4 hits walking none and striking out 12.  The junior’s performance marks his 14th win on the season which is a new career high.

  • Dan Grovatt - Virginia
  • Helped Virginia win its third ACC Baseball Championship.  Grovatt was named the All-Tournament MVP hitting .533 (8 for 15) with a double, a homer, five RBI, and seven runs scored over 4 games.

  • Matt Shelton - Sam Houston State
  • Improved to 7-0 with two wins in the Southland Conference Tournament.  In the championship game, Shelton struck out eight and did not walk a batter in 77 pitches after getting a win over UTSA on Thursday.  In 9.1 innings pitched in the tournament, he did not allow a run and struck out 12, earning him the Southland Conference Tournament MVP honor.
