We would like to invite you to the 2008 Brooks Wallace Classic. The tournament will be held at The Golf Club at Twin Creeks in Allen, TX, on November 10, 2008. The event proceeds will further the efforts of the College Baseball Foundation and the building of the National College Baseball Hall of Fame.
Every summer, the CBF recognizes the best of both the past and future of college baseball by presenting the Brooks Wallace National Player of the Year Award and inducting a new class into the National College Baseball Hall of Fame. The award is named after former Plano High School baseball standout Brooks Wallace who later went on to play and coach at Texas Tech University. He was diagnosed with leukemia in 1984 and died in March 1985 at age 27. However, Brooks’ legacy lives on today through the Brooks Wallace National College Player of the Year which is presented to the top collegiate baseball player based on character both on and off the baseball field.
The College Baseball Foundation serves as a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization. In 2004, the history of college baseball changed forever with the creation of the College Baseball Foundation. The official mission of the CBF is to foster an appreciation of the historical development of college baseball and its impact on our culture by collecting, preserving, exhibiting and interpreting its collections for a universal audience, as well as honoring those who have made major contributions to the game.
We hope that you can join us! Great Golf-Great Cause….it’s a Win/Win experience for all involved!
On behalf of the College Baseball Foundation we want to thank you for your support!
