The College Baseball Foundation and Diamond Sports are proud to announce this week’s National All-Star Lineup.   This week we bring another Big 12 no-hitter thrown by Brandon Workman from University of Texas as well as a 16 strikeout performance from San Diego State’s Stephen Strasburg.  See the full National All-Star Lineup below:
  • Brandon Workman - So, University of Texas

    Workman recorded the 21st no-hitter in UT history against Penn State on Sunday afternoon.  Workman had 10 strikeouts in the 9 – 0 victory.  He also posted the Big 12’s only complete game shutout for the week.

  • Ryan Berry - Jr, Rice

    Berry threw a complete game, shutout victory over No. 1 Texas A&M on Saturday night in the 2009 Houston College Classic.  He allowed just two hits, struck out 12 and did not walk a batter.  In the win, Berry registered six three-up, three-down innings and never faced more than four batters in an inning. He was named the MVP of the 2009 Houston College Classic.

  • Bo Davis - Sr, Southern Miss

    Davis helped the Golden Eagles in four victories last week, hitting safely in each game and finishing the week 8 for 16 (.500) at the plate.  He homered in three of the games, twice to open the game, drove in six runs and scored eight times from his lead-off spot.

  • Jeff Farnham - Sr, New Mexico State

    He went 11 for 14 (.786) at the plate with a double, 2 home runs, and 11 RBI. He was also 3 for 3 in stolen bases attempts, which ranks second among all WAC players. Farnham also led the team this past weekend in slugging percentage (1.286) and on-base percentage (.850), while posting three walks and 20 putouts for a perfect fielding percentage.

  • Matt Flemer - Fr, California

    In his collegiate debut he started out the game by giving out a home run, but then settled down to throw 6.2 innings with four hits, two runs, no walks and 13 strikeouts. Flemer also came in a relief appearance and threw 2 innings giving up no runs no hits and striking out 3 to earn the save for the Golden Bears in there 6 to 3 victory of Long Beach State.

  • Josh Parr - Fr, Illinois

    Paced the Illini to a 3-0 weekend by hitting .700 with a triple and 5 RBI.  In game three, the freshman hit a game winning triple.  Parr leads the Illini in batting average, slugging, on-base percentage, hits, and total bases.

  • Jeff Hanson - Sr, Sacred Heart

    Hit .667 (8 for 12) with 13 RBI and seven runs scored.  Six of Hanson’s 8 hits were for extra bases with a homerun in each of the three games.  In game two, the senior had a four hit 7 RBI day and registered the NEC first grand slam of the season.

  • Ben Carlson - Jr, Missouri State

    The Bear’s Junior first baseman received MVP honors at Sam Houston State’s Bearkat Baseball Classic hitting .500 (10-20) with 11 RBI, 4 runs scored, 2 doubles, and a homerun.  In Saturday’s game against St. Mary’s, Carlson went 4-for-6, all four of his hits drove in runners, with seven RBI - the most RBI for an MSU player since 2001.

  • Stephen Strasburg - Jr, San Diego State

    Struck out 16 batters in 6.2 innings on the mound in San Diego State's 5-2 win over Nevada. Strasburg fanned seven of the first nine batters he faced and struck out the side four times. He also gave up just five hits, two earned runs and one walk, while the Wolf Pack hit just .167 against him on the night.

  • Kent Matthes - Sr, Alabama

    The right fielder’s 11 for 20 (.550) hitting was highlighted by hitting for the cycle in one game, had two game-winning RBIs, including a walk-off 10th inning blast, and tied the school record with a home run in five straight games. For the week he had six home runs, 15 RBI, and a 1.650 slugging mark.

  • Zach Johnson - Jr, Campbell

    Johnson had an impressive week at the plate as the Camels went 3-1 this week including 1-1 in A-Sun play.  Johnson finished the four game stretch batting 10-of-18 (.556), with 11 RBI and three home runs.  Johnson also scored eight runs for the Camels over those four games.

  • Tyler Holt - So, Florida St.

    Tyler Holt went 10-14 (.714) against Auburn last week.  Holt had four doubles, a triple, and a home run driving in 6 runs.

  • Daniel Calhoun - Jr, Murray State

    Calhoun tossed a four-hit complete game shutout (seven innings) as Murray State topped Illinois State 1-0 on Friday.  The junior lefty struck out eight Redbird batters without walking a batter.  He retired 11-straight hitters from the second through the sixth inning.  The eight strikeouts for Calhoun were a career-high.  He ended the game by striking out the final two hitters to get out of a two-on, no-out situation.

  • Austin Ross - So, LSU

    Ross tossed six shutout innings in Sunday's win over UCF, allowing just two hits while recording no walks and a career-best 10 strikeouts.  Ross threw 81 pitches during his outing, and he did not allow a UCF runner to advance beyond first base.

  • Shon Landry - Sr, McNeese St.

    Shon Landry went 16-24 (.667) in 5 games last week for McNeese St.  He had 3 doubles, 1 homerun, and drove in 10, while crossing the plate 7 times himself.

  • Jimmy Heard - Sr, Northwestern St.

    Jimmy Heard struck out 14, leading Northwestern St. to the shutout win over Houston Baptist.  Heard pitched 8 innings giving up five hits and walking one, allowing only one batter to get past second base.

  • Coach Jim Gilligan - Lamar University

    Lamar defeated Siena, 6-1, to give longtime Lamar head coach Jim Gilligan his 1,100th win at Lamar Wednesday.  Gilligan is Lamar's winningest coach with 1,100 total wins in 33rd year as a head coach.

  • Youngstown State University

    Junior Jacke Healey hit a two-run home run with two outs in the ninth inning to lead the Youngstown State baseball team to a 7-6 win over VMI Friday and its 1,000th victory as a program. "What an unbelievable finish, and what a way to get our 1,000th win," YSU head coach Rich Pasquale. The program now has an overall record of 1,000-958-6 in its 55th season.
